Chamomile Apothecary Tea
Anthemis nobilis (Chamomile) flowers
The Greeks named chamomile 'ground apple' because of its scent. The name chamomile is derived from 'kamai' (on the ground) and 'melon' (an apple). In Spain it is called 'Manzanilla' or 'a little apple', which is also the name of an alcoholic beverage flavoured with chamomile. For centuries it has been renowned for its relaxing effect. It is also a wonderful antiseptic, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory.... so much goodness in such a little flower!
