The Camellia is said to bring in riches and luxury. It has been used for drinking, beauty and medicine since around 1000 BC.
Camellia is our friend. It has been at the heart of the beauty secrets of the geisha for centuries. Camellia oil has outstanding moisture and emollient properties and it is one of the lightest and most absorbent of the plant oils.
It penetrates skin as fast as water, leaving it supple and hydrated. The oil contains mono-saturated essential fatty acids and very high in oleic acid (Omega 9 fatty acid) and antioxidants. Camellia oil contains vitamins, A, B, and E and one of the most precious constituents for skin - phytosqualene. Squalene is a natural component of human sebum. With age we become deficient in squalene, which results in dry skin, premature aging and wrinkles.
Camellia oil helps counter that while also protecting skin from harmful UV and environmental damage, forming a thin shield against strong sun rays and change of temperatures. It also known to protect from age spots, freckles and excessive pigmentation. It is safe to use around eyes to prevent lines. We love it.
Camellia is also the plant used to make green tea and matcha, which is the finely ground version of green tea.
Like all green teas, Matcha is credited with being deliciously good for you. The beauty of Matcha is that you can receive the benefit of the whole, high-quality green tea leaf. Comparatively, Matcha green tea has a much higher concentration of antioxidants than orange juice or blueberries, two fruit sources well known for their abundance of antioxidant properties. Studies show that EGCG, the powerful antioxidant in green tea, is beneficial for digestion and a useful part of a healthy diet and exercise programme.
Matcha tea is said to support a feeling of mental alertness which makes it popular with people who practice yoga and meditation.
Matcha Green Tea is a 100% natural source of:

"We think that people concerned about lowering cancer risk should consider adding green tea as another potentially protective food to a diet rich in plant foods and low in fat and salt." - Jeffrey R. Prince, American Institute for Cancer Research, Vice President for Education. See the Matcha Scientific Studies page for further information.
We used to stock a beautiful premium grade organic matcha tea. It was the highest grade we could source. It was handpicked and the first pick of the season. Sadly though it seems that we were ahead of the curve and it was slow to sell. If enough people tell us they would like us to stock it again then we will certainly consider it. Let us know if you are keen for us to stock it again by dropping us an email at email@example.com.
